Sales Negotiator – Maternity Cover (12-Month Contract)

Location: Witney, Oxfordshire
Salary: £35,000–£40,000 per annum (fixed salary, no commission)
Contract: Initial 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover)
Start Date: January 2027 or earlier
Working Hours: Monday–Thursday 9am–6pm, Friday 9am–5pm, 1 in 3 Saturdays (half-day off in lieu)

The Opportunity

We are recruiting an experienced Sales Negotiator to join a successful, independent estate agency in Witney on an initial 12-month maternity cover contract.

Our client is an established and growing independent agency that has recently expanded to four offices across Oxfordshire. With a strong reputation for customer service, local market expertise and a relationship-led approach to estate agency, they offer a refreshing alternative to larger corporate businesses.

The Role

As Sales Negotiator, you will play an important part in the day-to-day success of the Witney office, supporting buyers and sellers throughout their property journey.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Registering applicants and understanding their property requirements.

• Arranging and conducting property viewings.

• Building strong relationships with buyers and sellers.

• Negotiating offers and progressing agreed sales.

• Maintaining regular communication with clients, applicants and colleagues.

• Identifying opportunities to generate new business and support the wider team.

• Delivering a consistently high standard of customer service.

• Keeping up to date with property values, market activity and local trends.

About You

We are looking for an experienced estate agent who can quickly become a valuable member of the team.

You will need:

• A minimum of two years' experience in residential estate agency sales.

• Previous experience conducting viewings, managing applicants and negotiating offers.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

• A proactive, organised and customer-focused approach.

• The confidence to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.

• A good understanding of the residential property sales process.

• A full UK driving licence.

Previous experience working in Witney or the surrounding Oxfordshire property market would be particularly advantageous, although we would welcome applications from experienced negotiators working in neighbouring areas.

Salary & Working Arrangements

• £35,000–£40,000 fixed annual salary, dependent on experience.

• No commission-based earnings.

• Initial 12-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover.

• Monday to Thursday: 9am–6pm.

• Friday: 9am–5pm.

• One in three Saturdays, with a half-day off in lieu for each Saturday worked.

• January 2027 start, with an earlier start available.
