About the Role
Sales Negotiator
Independent Estate Agency | South West London
Basic salary: £27,000
OTE: c. £75,000
Working pattern: Office-based, 5-day week including 1 in 2 Saturdays with a weekday off in lieu
The Opportunity
A well-established, independent estate agency in South West London is looking to add an experienced Sales Negotiator to its busy, high-performing sales team.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who wants to build a proper long-term career in estate agency, in a business that values honest advice, strong local knowledge, excellent communication, and doing the job properly from instruction through to completion.
The agency has a strong presence across Southfields, Wimbledon, Earlsfield, Wandsworth and the surrounding South West London market, with a reputation built around independent advice, strong presentation, expert negotiation and attentive client service.
This is not a quiet desk. The office is high-volume, fast-paced and commercially active, with a strong pipeline and regular new instructions. The team now needs additional sales capacity to maintain the service standards the business is known for and convert opportunities properly.
The Role
You will be expected to manage the full sales journey across your own files, including applicant management, viewing feedback, offer negotiation, vendor and buyer communication, and sales progression through to exchange and completion.
The business is specifically looking for someone who wants to stay close to clients throughout the transaction, rather than handing everything over once a sale is agreed.
You will be joining an established office team with experienced sales, admin, lettings and operational support around you, but this is a busy environment where you will need to be self-sufficient, proactive and comfortable managing pressure.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Registering, qualifying and managing buyers
- Conducting and following up on viewings
- Building strong relationships with vendors and applicants
- Negotiating offers and agreeing sales
- Managing your own sales progression from offer accepted through to completion
- Keeping clients updated with clear, consistent communication
- Working closely with the wider sales and admin team
- Helping maintain high service standards in a busy, high-volume office
- Contributing to a determined, ambitious and standards-led team culture
About You
You will need previous estate agency experience and a clear desire to build your career in the industry.
This role would suit someone who is confident, resilient and proactive — the kind of person who can manage a busy desk, hold their own in a fast-moving office, and take ownership without needing constant hand-holding.
The ideal person will be:
- Experienced in residential estate agency sales
- Confident handling both negotiation and sales progression
- Commercial, energetic and motivated by results
- Strong with clients, buyers and internal communication
- Resilient under pressure
- Comfortable in a busy office with strong personalities
- Ambitious and career-minded
- Service-led, but not soft
- Organised enough to manage a sizeable pipeline properly
- Keen to learn how to do estate agency to a high standard
This probably will not suit someone completely new to estate agency, unless they are unusually self-sufficient, robust and quick to learn.
Package
- £27,000 basic salary
- Expected OTE around £75,000
- 10% commission on personal banking
- Potential guarantee available for the right candidate
- 20 days holiday, plus bank holidays
- Additional office closures over Easter and between Christmas and New Year
- Office-based role, opposite the tube
- 08:45 arrival for 09:00 start, finishing at 6:00pm
- 1 in 2 Saturdays, with a weekday off in lieu
Why This Role?
This is a chance to join a respected independent agency with strong stock levels, a significant pipeline, and a genuinely busy sales environment.
The opportunity is there for someone who wants responsibility, earnings potential and the chance to become a key part of a well-regarded local business — not just sit in a corporate structure waiting for leads to land.
For the right person, this is a proper negotiator role with real ownership, strong earning potential and room to develop.
